Being a Real Estate Agent in Northern Ohio - Positives and Negatives

My team, the Hisey Group with Howard Hanna, serves Cleveland, Ohio west of the Cuyahoga River to the Lake Erie Islands.  We cover multiple counties to include western Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Northern Erie and Ottawa Counties.  We even handle the occasional Medina County transaction.  That is a large area - but we enjoy the diversity in neighborhoods, home styles, and landscape.

While I love most aspects of real estate to include the people and places I get to enjoy, there are like most jobs some negatives.

  • People that cancel at the last minute - it can take hours to prepare sometimes.  Sellers clean, leave their homes and change schedules.  Don't be rude - provide adequate notice.
  • Driving - you drive a lot!  I find books on tape make a huge difference.  A good blue tooth system helps.
  • Always taking the blame.  A real estate transaction can involve many people, companies and government entities.  Things can and will go wrong on a regular basis.  Having an agent coordinate everything makes a huge difference, but sometimes #@$% happens that is not in their control.
The good always exceeds the bad!

  • Amazing People
  • Beautiful Homes
  • Fantastic Communities
  • Working with many dedicated and caring professionals
If you are considering a real estate career, give me a call.  I'm happy to discuss options with you.  Helping people meet one of their major life goals can be a rewarding experience.
